India’ Harnaaz Sandhu was crowned Miss Universe 2021. Harnaaz Sandhu beat Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreira and South Africa’s Lalela Mswane, and crowned Miss Universe 2021. Only two Indians have won the title of Miss Universe before Harnaaz Sandhu, and they are Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000. On this occasion, Harnaaz said, “I believed in myself and that is why I am standing here today.”
The model Harnaaz Sandhu who was born in Chandigarh, has won several beauty pageants in the past. Harnaaz has been crowned Miss Diva 2021 and Femina Miss India Punjab 2019. She was also placed in the Top 12 at Femina Miss India 2019.
21 years old Harnaaz Sandhu from Punjab, represented India at the 70th Miss Universe 2021, held in Eilat, Israel, bringing home the crown. She was presented the crown by Andrea Meza, the former Miss Universe 2020 from Mexico at the event which was lively.
She started competing in pageantry as a teenager, winning titles such as Miss Ferozepur 2017 and Miss Max Emerging Star India 2018. After winning the title of Femina Miss India Punjab 2019, Sandhu competed in Femina Miss India, where she ultimately placed in the Top 12
Harnaaz Sandhu is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Public Administration.
