Telugu movie star Akkineni Nagarjuna paid tribute to his father, actor and producer Akkineni Nageswara Rao on his birth anniversary today. Akkineni Nageswara Rao was popularly known as ANR among his fans and he died in the month of January 2014 at the age of 90 after losing his battle with cancer. Today morning Nagarjuna took to his Twitter and shared a small video clip and captioned it, “Remembering dear Nana! My hero!! My inspiration!! ANRLivesOn”
In the career spanning 7 decades, Akkineni Nageswara Rao – ANR acted in over 250 films in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages and he became one of the most prominent figures in the history of Tollywood.
Earlier during an interview about ANR biopic Nagarjuna had said, “We are even scared to remake any of his classic movies. So to make a biopic on my father life is completely out of question. I or my family have no plans to come up with a biopic on my dad”.
ANR is known for his performance in Laila Majnu, Devadasu, Anarkali, Batasari, Mooga Manasulu, Prem Nagar, Premabhishekam, Meghasandesham, Donga Ramudu, Mangalya Balam, Gundamma Katha, Doctor Chakravarty, Dharma Daata and Dussehra Bullodu.
On the otherside, Nagarjuna who was last seen playing the lead role in Wild Dog, is currently working with Praveen Sattaru for The Ghost.
