Nayantara is currently working for her 65th film titled as Netrikann. Nayantara’s character is visually impaired in the upcoming thriller spine-tingling, kick-ass teaser, which is produced by Vignesh Shivan under his maiden production venture, Rowdy Picture, whereas it is being helmed by Aval filmmaker Milind Rau. Today on the occasion of Nayantara’ birthday, the makers of Netrikann unveiled the teaser of the film, which is going viral.
Coming on the teaser of Netrikann, Nayantara is playing the role of a blind single woman. The upcoming film revolves around a series of killings of young women and now the killer is after Nayantara’s life.
Netrikann was also the title of Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth’ 1981 film made under Kavithalayaa Productions. Earlier during an interview Milind Rau had said, “We met Pushpa Kandaswamy, KB’s daughter, to get an NOC to use the title. Interestingly, lady superstar Nayantara’ first movie was produced by KB sir under his production house. So, everything fell in the place.” Netrikann means the third eye.
The makers of Netrikann are yet to announce a release date. We have to wait and see whether the filmmakers will release the movie in theatres or will take the OTT route.
The speculations are rife that Netrikann is the official remake of the Korean film, Blind that follows a blind woman, who gives testimony in a hit and run case. She is forced to confront killer on her own.
