Rana Daggubati’s portrayal of a deadly and cruel villain Bhallaladeva in SS Rajamouli’ magnum opus Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, earned him a pan Indian appeal. After this film, Rana Daggubati has starred in a couple of Telugu films, which turned out to be massive hits of that year. With basking in the sunshine of success, Rana Daggubati went on to sign a couple of multilingual films such as ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’ and ‘1940’, which are in different production stages. Now Rana Daggubati is getting ready to start the shoot of his mythological drama Hiranyakashipu, where he will essay the role of the demon king.
Hiranyakashipu is based on Hindu mythology where Lord Vishnu incarnates in Narasimha avatar to kill most notorious and deadly asura king Hiranyakashipu and save his son Prahalad from him. Incidentally, Hiranyakashipu’s son Prahalad is an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu. The upcoming film will be helmed and bankrolled by Gunasekhar. There is a strong buzz that the film will be made on a whopping budget of Rs 180 crore.
The sources say that Gunasekhar has already started the work for his upcoming mythological drama Hiranyakashipu and a palace set is being erected in Ramanaidu Studios with all the real jewellery and chandeliers. Gunasekar is spending Rs 15 Cr for Rana Daggubati’s palace. The mythological court of Hiranyakashipu (Rana Daggubati) will be full of gold and jewels, and Gunasekhar is spending a huge amount to make the court more lavish. The film is set to go on to the floors very soon.
It is being heard that nearly 17 VFX studios will be working for the graphical content in Rana Daggubati starrer Hiranyakashipu. By playing his first mythological character, Baahubli star Rana Daggubati seems to push the envelope for villainery much further than anyone else.
On the other side, Rana Daggubati is also part of Virata Parvam.
