Nellore police arrested YCP MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy today on 6th October morning. The YCP MLA was arrested in connection with the woman officer attack case. Reddy was taken to the General Hospital for conducting medical tests. The arrest was made after the police probed and filed a case based on a complaint filed by Venkatachalam Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) Sarala on Friday midnight.
YCP MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy along with his followers threatened the Venkatachalam MPDO Sarala for not providing water connection to a layout located in Golagamudi village. Police booked the case against Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and arrested him on Sunday. Nellore Rural DSP KV Raghava Reddy said that further investigation would be taken up by examining witnesses and evidences.
The ruling party MLA was first taken to the Nellore Government General Hospital for the medical examination and later he was shifted to Nellore rural police station. There was high drama as YCP MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy’s supporters tried to prevent the arrest of their leaders.
On the other-side, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy sought a report from Director General of Police Gautam Sawang and directed the Nellore police to act in according to law.
